Fall 2023 CAPS Computing Boot Camp

CAPS is organizing a 2-day workshop designed to empower graduate students and advanced undergraduates with the skills and knowledge to effectively utilize the NCSA campus cluster.

Who: The workshop is aimed at graduate students and advanced undergraduates.

What: On the first day, participants will receive in-depth guidance on harnessing the capabilities of the campus cluster, led by Jay Alameda and Gautham Narayan. The second day will be dedicated to mastering parallel programming techniques on the cluster, with instruction provided by CAPS Postdocs Cynthia Trendafilova and Srini Raghunathan.

When: The workshop spans two days (9/21/23 – 9/22/23), with distinct focuses for each day.

Where: The event will take place at NCSA in classroom 1040 from 9-1:30 pm.

Why: This interactive workshop not only equips attendees with valuable cluster computing skills but also fosters a collaborative learning environment. To further incentivize participation, attendees will enjoy complimentary breakfast (featuring bagels and coffee/tea) as well as lunch (featuring pizza) on both days, ensuring a conducive and rewarding learning experience.
