SkAI Data Science Preceptor (A Postdoctoral position)
Job Summary
The University of Chicago Data Science Institute, in partnership with the City Colleges of Chicago (CCC), and the U.S. National Science Foundation and Simons Foundation-funded National AI Institute for the Sky (“SkAI Institute”) invites applications for the position of The University of Chicago (UChicago) SkAI Data Science Preceptor, with a focus on teaching and scholarship in the area of Astronomy and AI. The UChicago and CCC Preceptorship program develops the next generation of teaching academics for data science and astronomy education. This unique program emphasizes pedagogical best practices and allows Preceptors the opportunity to broaden their classroom skills and enhance their teaching and scholarship portfolios with the support of UChicago and CCC faculty mentorship. UChicago is recruiting Preceptors with an Astronomy and AI focus to co-develop new Astro-AI curriculum and teach courses at UChicago, CCC, and other SkAI partner institutions.

SkAI Prize Postdoctoral Fellowships
Job Summary
SkAI Fellows have the opportunity to lead independent research aligned with SkAI’s broad Astro-AI research mission, in collaboration with SkAI faculty and their respective research groups. Fellows are based in the SkAI Hub, which is located in the historic John Hancock Center in downtown Chicago, and are also be able to also spend time at any of the SkAI institutional research partners (Northwestern University, The University of Chicago, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and many other partners), depending on the Fellows’ research and education interests.

SkAI Postdoctoral Associates
Job Summary
SkAI Postdoctoral Associates have the opportunity to work with SkAI faculty on specific research projects aligned with the Institute’s Astro-AI research mission. Associates will be employed by any of the three SkAI lead institutions (Northwestern University, The University of Chicago, and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign) and may collaborate closely with SkAI personnel at any of the SkAI partner institutions depending on their expertise and active research projects.

Graduate Fellowship
The graduate fellowship includes one year of funding at $35k per year for a stipend (with tuition remission). Computing resources and travel funds for CAPS and NCSA related work are also available to graduate fellows.
